The Turner Foundation was established to preserve historical mechanical engineering, most notably motor vehicles, and to provide education to the public, engineers, motor mechanics and related trades in the restoration and maintenance of historical machinery.

Vehicles held in trust by the foundation include vintage, veteran and historic motor vehicles.

The Turner Foundation manages assets including a facility in Melbourne that houses completed vehicles.

The secure, purpose-built location also houses a motoring display, outboard motors display, workshop, parts, library, office and multi-purpose area.

The overarching purpose of The Turner Foundation is to educate. With this in mind the foundation aims to promote and further the teaching of trades associated with restoration and maintenance of historic vehicles.

It also aims to educate the public on the importance of these vehicles to the history and advancement of motor
vehicles over the ages, and the development of fine craftsmanship and engineering skills.
